Image Toolkit
4 image tools in one: convert between PNG, JPEG, and WEBP with a quality slider, crop by dragging or exact coordinates, mask a photo into a circle, and extract text from an image with OCR — all in your browser.
- Pick a mode from the pill bar — Convert & Compress, Crop, Circle Crop, or Extract Text (OCR).
- Choose an image file (PNG, JPEG, WEBP, or static GIF, depending on the mode).
- Adjust the mode's controls — output format and quality, a dragged or numeric crop selection, or circle radius.
- Run the action and download the result, or copy the extracted text straight from the output box.
All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your data never leaves your device.
Key Features
- Convert & Compress — switch between PNG, JPEG, and WEBP with a quality slider and before/after file size comparison
- Crop — drag a selection directly on the image, or enter precise X/Y/width/height values
- Circle Crop — centered circular mask with an adjustable radius, exported as a transparent-corner PNG
- Extract Text (OCR) — recognize and copy text from any image using Tesseract OCR
- Live before/after file size comparison for format conversion
- Copy-to-clipboard for extracted OCR text
- Convert, Crop, and Circle Crop run 100% offline — your images never leave your device
About Image Toolkit
Common image tasks — changing a file's format, trimming it to a specific area, making a circular avatar, or pulling text out of a screenshot — usually mean juggling several single-purpose sites, most of which upload your photo to their server to do the work.
ForgeKit's Image Toolkit bundles four of those tasks into one tool that runs entirely on your device. Convert & Compress re-encodes an image into PNG, JPEG, or WEBP with a quality slider for the lossy formats, showing the before/after file size. Crop lets you drag a selection directly on the image or type exact X/Y/width/height values for pixel-precise results. Circle Crop centers a circular mask on the image with an adjustable radius, exporting a PNG with transparent corners — handy for avatars and profile pictures. Extract Text (OCR) uses the Tesseract OCR engine to recognize and output any text visible in an image, ready to copy.
Convert, Crop, and Circle Crop are fully offline, running on the HTML canvas already loaded in your browser. OCR is the one exception: it needs a one-time internet download of its English language model the first time you use it in a session; after that initial fetch it's cached and runs locally like everything else.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Image Resizer is specifically for resizing dimensions. Image Toolkit covers format conversion, cropping, circular masking, and OCR text extraction — it doesn't include a resize feature.
Only the first time you use it in a session. Tesseract.js downloads its English language model from the network on first use, then caches it in your browser. Every other mode in this toolkit — Convert, Crop, and Circle Crop — is fully offline from the start.
You can load PNG, JPEG, WEBP, or a static GIF as input, and convert to PNG, JPEG, or WEBP as output. Converting to JPEG fills transparent areas with white, since JPEG has no alpha channel.
Accuracy depends on image quality, font, and contrast — clean, high-resolution screenshots of printed text work best. Handwriting and low-resolution or skewed photos will have more recognition errors.
Yes. Circle Crop automatically uses the largest circle that fits inside the image (based on its shorter side) as the default, and you can shrink it with the radius slider to zoom into a smaller circular area.
