Text List Toolkit
2 text utilities in one tool: a list sorter & deduplicator (sort, dedupe, trim, and clean up line-based lists) and a URL slug generator (turn any title into a clean, URL-safe slug).
- Pick a mode from the pill bar: List Sorter & Deduplicator or URL Slug Generator.
- For the list sorter, paste a list (one item per line) into the input textarea, choose your sort mode and cleanup options, and click Process.
- Review the before/after item counts and copy the cleaned-up output list.
- For the slug generator, type any title and watch a URL-safe slug generate live; choose a hyphen or underscore separator and an optional max length.
All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your data never leaves your device.

About Text List Toolkit
Two small text transformations come up constantly whether you're cleaning data, prepping a CSV import, or publishing content: turning a messy list into a sorted, deduplicated one, and turning a human-readable title into a clean URL slug. Neither is hard on its own, but doing them correctly by hand — especially deduplication with mixed casing, or slug generation with accented characters — is fiddly enough that a dedicated tool saves real time.
The List Sorter & Deduplicator takes a line-based list and applies any combination of operations: sort alphabetically (A→Z or Z→A), by length, numerically, or shuffle randomly; remove duplicate lines with an optional case-sensitive toggle; strip empty lines; and trim whitespace from each line. It reports before/after item counts so you can see exactly how much was cleaned up, and the result is ready to copy straight back out.
The URL Slug Generator converts any string — a blog post title, a product name — into a clean, URL-safe slug: it lowercases the text, strips accents and diacritics (so 'Café Résumé' becomes 'cafe-resume'), collapses any run of non-alphanumeric characters into a single separator, and trims separators from the ends. You can choose a hyphen or underscore separator and cap the output at a maximum length for SEO-friendly, predictable URLs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, when the case-sensitive toggle is on, "Apple" and "apple" are kept as separate, distinct lines. With it off (the default), they're treated as duplicates and only the first occurrence is kept.
Trim, then remove empty lines, then deduplicate, then sort — so trimming can turn a whitespace-only line into an empty one that then gets removed, and deduplication happens before sorting so the final order reflects your chosen sort mode.
It uses Unicode NFD normalization to split accented characters into a base letter plus a combining accent mark, then strips the accent marks — so 'café' becomes 'cafe' rather than being dropped or mangled.
Any run of one or more characters that isn't a lowercase letter or digit — spaces, punctuation, symbols — is collapsed into a single separator (hyphen or underscore), and any leading or trailing separators are trimmed off.
No. Both tools process everything as JavaScript directly in your browser tab; nothing you type or paste is ever sent to a server.
